Why would anyone want to buy overseas?
Apart
from the cleaner air, better diet, relaxed lifestyle, cheaper
cost of living and of course the weather, the main reason
is to escape the doom and gloom surrounding our once great
Britain.
Moving home or buying a second property can be a very
exciting but worrying time. But that is what we are here
for. Our role is to ensure we can find you the right property,
at the right price in the right place. We can then supply
you with the research and information so you can visit
the areas and view the properties. Carrying out proper
research cuts out the possibility of having to make snap
decisions when you do go to see the properties.
But why would you want to buy a property
abroad?
Many reasons really. Relocation,
retirement, investment, buy to let, holiday home or commercial
property. These are some of the main reasons, but it’s
the attractions of the weather and way of life that really
attract us.
But is it a sound investment, or is my
heart ruling my head?
We have all seen the property market
rise in the UK. Published statistics have shown a rise
of 220% in the cost of the average house price in the UK
over the past 10 years. The rise has been incredible and
allowed many people to release equity and buy further properties.
The UK has been no different to any other country, as all
countries have seen these increases.
Are the figures realistic, and can the
increases be sustained?
Yes. In 1997 the average house
price in the UK was around £80,000,
now the average price is approximately £240,000. This
increase was thought to be unsustainable and has now come
to an end, but it will follow the trend and begin to increase
again before we know it. Other countries are exactly the
same, and Spain and Turkey have seen even greater increases.
But as these started behind the UK, they have more room to
increase. Overseas investors have seen some superb increases
over the last 5 years, but these country’s governments
have prepared well and are able to sustain the continued
growth by limiting the development work over the forthcoming
years. And as the property prices are lower than the UK
they will always attract interest and investment.
